PRE-VACCINATION TRAINING HOME VISIT FOR YOUR NEW PUP!
Are you bringing a new Puppy into your home or perhaps Puppy has already arrived?
Please click here to request our FREE ARTICLE entitled “The New Puppy In Your Life” together with our Training Information Pack.
Your Vet will tell that you cannot pavement lead walk puppy outside of your home until the second vaccination has run its’ course, but we will be pleased to visit you at home meanwhile to help you with the important early essentials of basic Puppy Care and Training, before attending classes.
We make a small charge of £25.00 (to including travelling) for this visit which will include advice and answers to your various questions together with our extensive help and guidance notes to see you through this very important early stage and enable you to start your basic training immediately!
Please use these early weeks to carrying pup around shopping centres to help acclimatise to everyday sounds and regularly introduce to car travel. Meeting other dogs in both your or their homes, (as long as you know they are fully inoculated) is an ideal way to build pups social skills.
You may also visit us to just sit in at our Puppy Classes to watch what goes on. We make no charge for this but you may want to add a little something to one of our Canine Charity Boxes.
PUPPY CLASSES
After inoculations have been completed by about 10/12 weeks, this is the ideal time to start attending our classes. Many owners think this is too young — sorry, training should start the day you introduced your pup into your home — hence our PRE-VACCINATION TRAINING HOME VISIT referred to above!
The earlier you socialise your pup with as many other pups and dogs as possible, the better for your pups natural social development, so what better place than a well controlled training class. Please do not leave it any longer, for your dogs sake!
Like children, puppies must learn to accept and live with people and other dogs as part of normal everyday life. Your pup will now be experiencing many strange noises; fast moving cars and motor cycles; people milling around and speaking in raised voices; larger dogs barking loudly; aircraft noise; a passing train and so on. It’s natural for your pup to be excited, frightened and confused, such is the new and uncertain world he/she has just entered.
Our classes will help your pet become a well adjusted, friendly dog.
We introduce you to the important basics of good pet dog training, starting with “Attention, Lead Walking, Sit, Sit-stay, Down, Down-Stay and Recall” exercises. Yes, pups can do all of these things at this early age, if you wish to train them to, that is?
We pay considerable attention to ongoing socialisation, which you must do outside as well, but in class they remain on-lead and in a controlled manner. There are no “free for all’s” - pups are only allowed off lead when we train the Recall or otherwise at our trainers request.
A little practicing each day between weekly classes is essential
And in your dogs best interests!
Our personally written Free Information Compiler and Weekly Training Reminder notes are included as part of your course to help you and your family enjoy your pup!
All dogs learn quicker if you and your family are consistent and repetitive with your training and in no time at all you will be advancing to our Beginners Class!
